Service Areas Across Sarawak

UMLAB Sarawak mobilizes for materials testing and site investigation work across all divisions of Sarawak from our Kuching headquarters. Below is an overview of the districts we cover and the infrastructure context shaping testing demand in each.

Kuching

Sarawak's state capital and largest urban centre. Our Kuching HQ office is based here, giving the fastest response time and most direct project coverage across the Kuching–Samarahan conurbation.

Samarahan

Adjoining Kuching along the Pan Borneo Highway corridor, with expanding residential, education, and light industrial development driving demand for concrete and soil testing on new builds.

Serian

An agricultural district straddling the Pan Borneo Highway toward the Tebedu border crossing, where road upgrading and rural infrastructure works call for pavement and aggregate testing.

Sri Aman

Centred on the Batang Lupar river basin. Road and bridge works connecting the division to the Pan Borneo corridor require geotechnical and structural testing support.

Betong

A coastal-riverine division with agricultural and rural connectivity projects, where soil investigation and CBR testing support road subgrade design on developing routes.

Sarikei

Positioned along the Rajang basin, with river-crossing and road infrastructure projects that rely on concrete and geotechnical testing during construction.

Sibu

A major inland river port and commercial hub on the Rajang River, sitting on the Pan Borneo Highway corridor. Larger-scale commercial and infrastructure works here call for our full range of testing services.

Mukah

Anchors the southern end of the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) at Tanjung Manis, where port and industrial development create demand for concrete, aggregate, and structural testing.

Bintulu

Home to Samalaju Industrial Park — the largest industrial park in East Malaysia — and a deep-water port. Heavy industrial and marine infrastructure projects here require rigorous materials testing and axle load survey support for associated haulage routes.

Kapit

Sarawak's largest but most remote division, served mainly by river access with limited road connectivity. We plan site mobilization and testing logistics around this access profile.

Miri

Northern Sarawak's oil and gas hub and a Pan Borneo Highway gateway city near the Brunei border, with ongoing urban and energy-sector infrastructure works.

Limbang

A SCORE growth node in northern Sarawak near the Brunei border, where connectivity and rural development projects require geotechnical and pavement testing support.
